Default Not a very good week

I just felt like sharing with you guys something thats been going on in my life and thats been on my mind pretty much every minute since I was called in to work early two days ago. Read link below.

http://www.kxtv.com/storyfull2.aspx?storyid=14350

I work for the SO here and this happened to a friend. This week has been a really bad week for me and my co-workers and our families.

The tragedy hit really close to home and made me greatful and appreciate that I was able to go home and see my family, as this could of happened to anyone of us.

I'm SO PISSED about what happened that I can't even describe to all of you what this event has done to all in my profession.

I honestly hoped that the taxpayers would not have to be burdened by supporting this asshole and his attorney's for another twenty years, until his appeals run out. IMO, he truly deserves the worst death and pain imaginable.

I can't say how sorry I am for his family. I hoped this wouldn't happen to anyone that I knew in my career but it did, twice. He was one of the nicest guys anyone could ever want to meet.

I know that I'm fairly new here and most likely nobody knows much about me until now, as I've been to busy lately to post. I just hope now that I can be excused from court to attend the funeral and show my respect.

Well, I just got home from work and I'm going to bed. Thanks for letting me rant.

Sorry for your loss, it is always terrible when someone is lost who is trying to make a difference. I agree, it turns my stomach to have to pay to support those dirtbags in jail, too bad SWAT did not get to him before he gave up. We had a Dallas officer killed here this week during a domestic call. It sounds like you are with the Sherriff's Dept, be safe and thanks for the job you guys do.

Monty,

Being in law enforcement in one aspect or another for the last 15 years, I have been through this same scenario on only one occasion, I know exactly what's going through your mind. A few days after it happened to one of my buds, I still had so much rage that I broke a resisting suspects arm putting him in cuffs.

I learned that you can't take these situations personally, but I know it's not easy when it's a fellow LEO. Especially when they leave behind a family. People who aren't LEO's don't quite understand the bond we have with our brothers in arms...

My thoughts and prayers to you and the officer who lost his life protecting the innocent...

I've been there too- former LEO. One of my friends was gunned down in his patrol car while stopping at 7-11 for coffee on his way home to check on his wife and 2 mo old baby. They shot him 30 times with an AK and then took his sidearm.

Maybe, or maybe the states that have, but do not enforce the sentence that these thugs get should do so, instead of having the taxpayers pay to keep him in jail while the officer is gone. There would be not question in Texas that he would be getting some medicine in a couple of years.

Did you guys read the story of his old man being a crooked cop, who got into robbing banks after he was fired. He ended up shooting himself in the head when he was in the middle of a robbery and was surrounded.

http://www.kxtv.com/storyfull2.aspx?storyid=14354

His mom doesn't seem to be so great either. She was arrested this year for dui and resisting arrest. I guess the apple doesn't fall far from the tree here.

I hope he figures his dad did the right thing and he follows suit.

Here's the latest.

The individual who was inadvertantly saved is a POS so it doesn't make me feel any better about it.

Monty, I am sorry to hear about this. I caught it on the news the other night and was pretty pissed.

It's BS when a wasted life goes on to ruin the life of another.
