All of these pictures are so fantastic....really. We got shirtless men, butt shots and lion porn all in one grouping...LOL!

The fishing looks incredible! I'm not sure Brian will take us fishing, but I told him I'm NOT wrestling any snakes to cook over the fire while camping in the bush.

Thanks for sharing....

One word for freshwater southern African fishing:

Tigerfish.

If Brian gets you all anywhere near a body of water with Tigerfish in it you have to try. It is by far my favorite fighting fish. I caught a 16lb one on Lake Kariba on 4lb line. it was the best fight i have had, ever. And they look cooler than any other fresh water fish too.

You can use Meps spinners, spoons, shit my wife caught a 10lb Tiger on a bare hook. They are not pickey. If you can whip a fly rod bring a 9 weight with some wire tippets and some bait fish patterns that are flashy. I havent had the chance yet but thats on the list.

There are also Bream. They are basically Tilapia, and fight great and eat even better. Lots of fish to catch down there.

More to come, i am barely 3/4 of the way done with Uganda. Still got Zimbabwe too.

Awesome. I bet the thrill of such a fish is quite exciting! For some reason, I would have never thought of fishing in Africa. I'm not sure why, but it makes sense.

Keep the pictures coming..... You seem like quite the thrill seeker.

So true !

Elephants are the worst, they get a bit agitated if you move too

I haven't had lion in the camp yet, but some friends have had a pride walk through the camp, between the vehicle and the table, as they were eating dinner, well after sunset ...

I have had hyaena all around the camp fire on a few occasions, a big nuisance, very dangerous if you fall asleep outside.....

Last month, on our Botswana trip, we had TWO leopards walk right through our camp as we were cooking dinner on the fire, the girls got a little "excited" They ran for the Defender and locked themselves in both times ! Wrong thing to do, but the leopards weren't too interested, just looked round at the commotion and carried on. It was a mating pair, judging by the footprints left the next morning.

No fishing on my trips, just don't go to suitable places, mostly because it doesn't interest me at all, but in Kasane I could organise a fishing trip on the Chobe river, if anyone is interested. I'll take a drive in the reserve in the meantime

Salisbury which became Harare. I was in the British South Africa Police and did duty around the country.
