Possibley shooting for next September. Brian says the weather is great then for such trips. I don't think he'd be too heartbroken if a few women were recruited under his care.... We'll just make sure he takes more pictures of the wildlife, and not us.... HA HA! Although, I'm coming back with a 'bum' picture of his for the LRO ladies! However, you all should come.

A lot of interest at first, but seems to have tailed off, I haven't had replies to last email to those who had been interested, although one is fairly certain about next year, where we already have a party of 8 - 10.

It's getting very tight to get bookings for September, ideally those should have been done a couple of months ago to be sure of getting good bookings. It's still entirely possible, of course, but we'll have to see

In the meant time, I took a few days off last month as I was invited to go and camp at Pete's Pond hide, where the National Geographic webcam is situated. I was able to take a few pictures from the hide whilst there and here they are :

Pete's Pond May 2008

Just reading back through this thread, I think there are a couple of albums from the last Central Kalahari trip that I haven't posted here yet. I'll have a check through and post them if anyone's interested

The wife and I are "planning" on going to Zim and SA around the March-April-May time frame next year. We may do a week near Cape Town and the rest in Harare.

She hasnt been home in almost 4 years and she needs to get her batteries recharged. Her family keeps making fun of her new "yank" accent.

Starting to save for it now, i cant imagine how expensive the plane tickets will be next year. Most everything else will be provided by family so thats a good deal.

Word to those of you who are on the fence about going. Do it. you only have one life, and if you sit on your butt telling your self how nice it would be to do but never do you will regret it for the rest of your life. That is as long as you dont end up breaking the bank in the process.
