When was the exact moment you decided you had to have the Land Rover of your dreams?
Korny I know, but hundreds of people are viewing this section but there hasn't been a comment in 12 hours, don't force me to ask a bunch of stupid questions.
Ok, since you asked. It was just after the test drive at the dealership when they take you over the tiny little course they have there. I think at one time, we were almost facing the ground the next we were facing the sky. It was pretty cool...I had to have one since then. Had to get one that was semi-used that needs work, but I got one! 1999 DII
I drove my buddies lifted 01 black disco on a thursday, that saturday I went to the local dealer and picked mine up, then shortly after had to have the OME lift and tires!!

"The more people I meet the more I like my dogs"
OK! Cool, I remember one of my first rides in a LR was in a range p38 and my friends dad ran over a cement parking barrier and the rover did not even shimmy, I did not even feel it! That started it all.
When I was in middle school 7th or 8th grade I was IN LOVE with the DI. I loved the roof line and how different it looked to other cars. Then my freshman year in high school the DII came out and decided that one day I would have a Disco... even if it would be more than 10 years old.
I remember spending hours looking up what HDC/ACE was and how they worked and "building my own" Disco on the LR website.
Finally got my dad to take me for a test drive and I was in heaven for all 5 min drive of the little obstacle course. Sitting in the back and looking out the Alpine glass facing the sky one second and the floor side ways the next... i said to myself, "One day I will own this". I was 14 or 15 years old.
Once I got my license I would drive over to the dealer about once every two months to window shop and I'd crawl under the trucks on the wicked displays. One day I pointed to inside the rear wheel well of a disco on display and said to my father, "hey look, those are the height sensors that control SLS".
Mods: Oil Pressure Gauge, ScanGaugeII, CDL, Electric CDL Actuator, RoverRacks Rear ladder, Limb Risers, ToddCo Front Drive Shaft, DI Wiper Arms, G4 Upper Rear Lamp Guards, No Amigos since 11/09
Coming soon: Install Greg Davis rear bumper, Replace 4 ball joints, Replace belt tensioners and pulleys.
For the future: .... wait and see....

Ten years later I have my Dream car.
Rover 4 Life!
WOW what a story!
It says alot about visualization, setting goals and having desire.
I developed a motivational speach, here is a piece of it.
Your sub-concious does not know the difference between fantasy and reality, you can tell yourself anything you want and it will believe you.
The theory is: Thoughts create feellings - feelings create emotion and emotion creates motion. So, if you think it and beleive it, it will happen.
Of my dreams? Still don't have the one of my dreams.
But my first was an ad in 1974 in a little classifieds publication in the DC area called The Want Ad, for a Farmall Super C and a '62 Regular 88.
Bought them both.

NICE - I really think it happens to everyone at some time.. A truning point that says I must have a LR.
1989.. watching clips of the camel trophy. i knew i would own one some day. it was the most different looking suv. all the others at the time were derivitives of the jeep or bronco. i still don't have the one of my dreams but maybe one day.
jycsalas.. you can order a delorean. hell you can even get the options you want and engine. you can even pick the color... as long as its stainless or anodized bronze haha. there were about 150,000 that were confiscated. all brand new. all for sale. about 36,000$
