Possession of a stolen firearm; correct. Add in possession of stolen property. Add in assault (non-aggravated) with a deadly weapon, for shooting the girl. If he is a convicted felon; they can add in possession of a firearm by a convicted fealon. So he's looking at time, maybe a good amount of time.
But feticide?; are they F-ing kidding? Makes me wonder how many states have these ridiculous, religion-biased, non-scientificically based laws on the books? It is sad, very sad, that the unborn child died; but it is Not murder. It does not become a life; until born, and takes it's first breath on it's own, unassisted. These laws are pathetic, ridiculous, and a waste of taxpayer's money.

it receives oxygen via the umbilical cord.. so it isn't actually "breathing" but eh.. its a person on life support you could say.

Thats because it wasn't the womans choice . Besides you are considered dead when you no longer have a heart beat. Not when you stop breathing. granted if you stop breathing your heart will stop shortly after. Not to get too innapropriate but by the idea of it not being a life until it breathes on its own means you can spin it around and cut off the head before it takes a breath and your good to go.

I think I am going to have to respectfully dis-agree with you. I believe that "feticide" should be held on a differnt level than actual murder, but I do believe that there should be more repercussion held for harm done to a preggo woman for the risk of harming the fetus inside her. I think to dis regard the fact that a fetus has lost it's chance at life because of someones careless actions would be rediculous.

On the wording of that point, I wholeheartedly agree.

If someones actions kill a fetus, be it a gun or a coat hanger and a shop vac, the end result is the same. The cause (at its root) is the same. It should have the same consequence.
