Was it just me, or did it bring a tear to your eye as well ? Such a well written, well portrayed, and well acted episode. As far as Blayne's one man stand, maybe a good bit unrealistic. But everything on the homefront meant so much. The hardest scene for me was Mac. Since episode one, the man's man, complete hardass. The soldier's soldier. And the personally flawed hero. The one I have always thought our kind could most personally understand, and see a bit of ourselves in.
But last night, when he chose to stay in the M.E.'s office with Hector. To honor his friend. To protect his friend's dignity. And to stand there through the autopsy, and only lift his gaze, but not shed a tear, or close his eyes. I could not stop myself from weeping.
And for only the second time in the show's history, did I go through a whole episode without hating the colonel. When he told the white house aide, that he would break his jaw, I actually was a little bit proud of the guy.

Thank you for this Thread man ,
i actually started the same one on other forums, the hard part for me was when They were calling Hectors name at the funeral, and there was silence, my wife actually put her arm around me, because she saw i was torn up, almost shed a tear myself, and its just a bloody TV show
By the way, is it me or does the new opening song SUCK!

Agreed, guys a Jerk for what he's doing with Tiff, but i felt proud of him for pointing out what the unit does for its Country, Bloody suits!
Last night was the first time I have ever seen it. My next door neighbor has been bugging me to start watching it and I was at his place last night for a few beers, so we watched it. He kind of gave me a bit of the history to help me understand what was going on.
Actually got a bit choked up myself during the funeral scene.
Wow!
I really only watch 24 (just don't have the time for too much else), but I may just become a die hard fan of this show.
Wolf; I had to walk out of the room halfway through the funeral. Just couldn't take it. When I was an EMT, I got out of it because I feared how I would react to losing a patient at my young age. When I was a Coastie, I lost one; and made the mistake of attending the funeral. Brother in arms, or not; when you lose someone you tried with every last bit of breath to save; you should never go back and pay condolences. It changes you on the inside.
I have nothing but respect for Grey forcing Annie to take him out of the Hospital so he could see Hector's parents. That meant more to me than anything I've seen on that show to date. To hell with the protocols when it comes to a man's parents when they lose their child. No parent should bury a child. Ever.
