Anyone here like the auto shows on Spike TV - Land Rovers Only

Cause I absolutely hate them. Seriously they are afront to my industry.

These guys are absolutely moronic. They probably couldnt diagnose their way out of a check engine lite or a short somewhere.

These guys could tell you how raise your truck to unlimited heights but not how to diagnose a vibration in the steering wheel.

And tools. Geez its easy to have the right tools when Snap on is paying for them. Hell we have to pay for everything. Their boxes alone are well over twenty grand for the big ones. And that doesn't include the tools. Of course the other stuff is donated.

If you want to learn how to be a parts replacer watch these guys. If you want to learn how to diagnose and properly fix a car, well watch an Automotive technician bust his ass on Flatrate in a dealership or an independant shop.

I dig Extreme 4x4... sometimes I fast forward through the buildups just to get to their 5 min section of showing wheeling. I missed the episode, but I believe the guys from Expedition Exchange were on one of them.

Seriously we have the same tools as these guys but the average DIYer is doing it in a driveway or if he is lucky in a garage that isnt really heated. And certainly doesnt have a full sized lift.

ITs ridiculous. Its just a half an advertisement for aftermarket parts that arent really tested for longevity like OEM parts.

It's entertainment only. The guy Stacey David that does the Trucks show is the real deal. He can fab just about anything and I think they show enough of the 'process' that there's a little something to be learned. Most of the other shows are nothing more than entertainment and product placement- I don't think anyone really thinks those talking heads really do all the work or really know how to in the first place. I have it on good authority that Sam Memolo from "two guys garage" and various other shows really knows his stuff- his nephew works with me.

I dont like many of them......extreme 4x4 and that new muscle car one are annoying IMO. Trucks was fun, but its always just reruns and hotrods.

The only ones I enjoy are Horsepower TV and Car and Driver.

I liked Trucks back when i had Cable. though around that time it seemed like most of the 4x4 stuff was getting taken over by the other show. the few episodes is saw of that one didn't impress me.

as a lover of all things pontiac and land rover, i'll take what i can get. i think the the coddington show devalues his cars with all opf the antics and hack jobs to get it done that they do. foose on the other hand really does know his stuff. if you watch the two, two of the best guy's at boyds left top work for foose. i hate when they throw a chevy into a pontiac. the muscle car show is cheezy but with the rest of t.v being pretty much crap i'll take it. my other favorite is ama supercross. go ricky. that kid is the real deal.
