Default Cracked Block 4.6 Range Rover p38

Hi,
I'm new to this forum and would greatly appreciate any advise.

I was the proud owner of a 2000 Range RoverP38 4.6 Vogue untill it blew it's engine. Now I just want to get t back on and off the road.

I have moved to Bulgaria where it is now stored but due to the taxes out here with registering cars, to buy a new 4.6 engine and tax it I would be looking at around 9000 euros.

Has anyone got any suggestions for a compatible diesel engine that would fit without a huge number of problems to overcome. Something a little bigger than a 2.5.

Thanks for any advise

With the new higher prices on diesel and the real high cost to convert over to a diesel engine, I would tend to lean towards a used 4.6 short block. Your replacement cost will be so much lower by staying with a gas engine.
By the way, what happened to your engine, are you sure it can not be repaired?

Thanks Mike,

The problem is that to register an engine here over 150kw the tax is huge - I think it's about 10euro/kw. I still have the engine but have been told that it's a right off. The vehicle is too good to scrap although it's probably not cost efficive to repair.
