Hello all from Adam in NYC
This is a post for those in the NYC area who is looking for a decent Independent Land Rover repair shop who can't do wrong. Finally found them after dealing with some knuckleheads over at the local Midas shop. They could not take off the lugnuts off my Discovery , for Christs sake. I grew up in a garage, so I learnt some things. I could tell when someone was so green they made growing plants look pale. One of my old mechanics told me about Fernando over at Rover Connection in Long Island City. As fate would have it, the shop was right down the street. Rover Connection 31-22 Green Point Avenue Long Island City, NY 11101 Phone: 718.729.6989 Maps Google URL: http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&hl=e...24713,0.107803 Mapquest URL: http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp...y=US&geodiff=1 The owner of the shop is Mohammed. You have Fernando the lead mechanic and his apprentice there. Very clean shop but very full of vehicles. There were two Land Rover Discoverys, Two Range Rovers when I was there. Asked me if I wanted some fresh-brewed coffee and in short treated me as royality and as a member of the family. The mechanics worked very hard on every project they were given. Mohammed is a slave to the phone but does his best to ensure all the parts and work are in order and you the customer are satisfied. And they have the computer for the Land Rover. Yes, finally! Mohammed also can get you good prices on Land Rover parts should you need them. Now why should I post something like this here. Because this shop may be moving due South to sunnier climates. If Mohammed sees a lot more business, the South's loss is my (and our) gain. We need some guys (and gals) like these people. Here is something that is the rarest in New York: a real honest auto repair shop that needs more customers and I think there are a few here who could use the business.
