Default DI or RRC?

I can't decide which I want to get as my first rover. I've always wanted a disco, but I've always wanted a RRC too. Buying both isn't really an option right now until I'm done with paramedic school, but shit I want to have more of a reason to post to these forums - like having a land rover? haha. My price range is $<3k

I've seriously been on crazedlist looking everywhere and there seem to be good deals on some RRC's, most discos around me are just well, shit. I found a DI with upgraded suspension and tires (2" lift, OME springs, bfg mudders) but no shocks...After reading everything on this forum, LRR, and discoweb - seems pretty stupid to not have upgraded shocks with upgraded everything else. Just with all the other issues some discos have, its one less thing I want to deal with. I'm going crazy

any insight? I just want to get a good idea between the two models. Let the fight begin!

Either the D1 or the RRC are great you just gottal look and what your needs are . Do you need the extra storage the RRC has over the D1 . Do you plan on wheeling where the trails are tight???

Replacing Shocks on a D1 isnt the end of the world. If you know howto to basic repairs on a vehical then a Land rover is not for you unless you can aford to have someone do the work for you but then you missing out on half the fun of a Land Rover.

If the D1 was really maintained well then shocks are no big deal . I seen a few nice D1's on Discoweb for sale if you wanna travel to get it .

For 3k you can get a really nice D1 or RRC.

Doesn't sound like you're ready for a Rover. Do us a favor and buy a Jeep.

Yeah not a big issue for the shocks, just concerned with the knowledge of the previous owner when he put everything else on. Just after seeing some rad RRC's has made it difficult to decide which I want to get.
