if i stay at 65mph i get like 18-19 with my roof rack, magnaflow muffler, no resonator.

city i can get anything from 8-15 depending on what the hell i am doing and if i'm in stop and go traffic.

if i got 70+ on the highway i get like 15 steady.

if my exhaust is so rich in gas i should just put a spark plug in my exhaust and shoot flames out the back.... (kidding)

Jupiter, that sounds like really low gas mileage. Are you compensating for your odometer being off? With those size tires, I bet you are off by at least ten percent. So if your odometer reads like 300 when you have gone through your gas tank then you have actually gone like 330 miles or if it says 250 you have actually gone 275 for example.

Yeah, going over 70 kills the gas mileage especially with the larger tires.

thanks

I definitely do not think I will gain any mileage with the chip. If I was worried about mileage I would not have purchased the Disco on April 11/08.

True gas mileage is so difficult to measure with different elevations, climates and driver habits. if I loose 1-2 miles per gallon that would be acceptably.
I will be checking the tail pipe for any abnormal black build up.

My Discovery seems like it has plenty of power as it is, but I have always wanted to chip something and this is a good candidate.

I will be doing some wheeling before the chip and will look for any difference after the chip.

The only issue I have with the Powerchip, is that you have to burn even higher octane fuel than usual. My truck uses 91 all day long. I believe the Powerchip recommends 93, and only a couple of stations have it. So I went the "cheap" route and installed a 4.6 into my 02'. 50 ft. lbs. of torque. No chip is going to give you that. LOL!

I believe BP does. But only a few in Vero. I try to only use Mobil and Amoco gas stations, if I can help it. After the hurricanes, almost everyone else had lots of water in their inground tanks. Remember when we got the two back to back, three weeks from each other? Everything was destroyed up here. Some stations never were able to come back. Too much ground soil contamination.

Powerchip offers a 91 Octane chip and a 93 Octane chip, I am running the 91 Octane chip.

I do find it is more sensitive to the type of fuel I put in, Chevron, Shell and Sinclair seem to be the best as far as power, but I do not notice a difference with fuel economy between the different fuels.

I am going to get my vehicle inspected this month and I am curious if it is going to affect my emissions, but of course I let you guys know.
