Default El Paso Rovers Unite!!!

I'm a member of Texas Rovers. I recently moved to El Paso Texas. I would like to start a chapter of Texas Rovers here in El Paso. Here is what we need.
5 people paying reasonable dues ($25) (2 already confirmed).
A vote from the other 3 chapters in Texas.
We will need to also identify / nominate who will be the chapter VP, Events Coordinator, and Membership Secretary.

I'm feeling pretty lonely and completely out numbered by the amount of J**ps and lifted trucks in the area. Let’s band together in the name of all that is ROVER!

If you are in the local area PM me.

What's up with all the moves? Didn't even know you moved from here until I read your post on T.R. Now, your no longer in Witcha Falls?
What made you move to El Paso?
Do you have means to contact Chris U. otherwise I'll post to the HLRC for you? (He moved there too).

The good note for you is: there is tons of awesome places to wheel in that area.

Hope your doing well.

Angie got a job offer with a top rated national firm to become managing attorney with a line to partner. This was enough to leave her practice in WF.

I got the message about Chris moving here and I saw the pics he sent. I think I saw his Rover around town once. I hadn’t thought of him but that’s a great idea. If you could send a message to him or PM me his email I would appreciate it.

Things are great. From my front door it’s about 30 feet to open desert where I see quads running over the sand and rocks all the time. No trees but plenty of obstacles to learn on . If I get stuck or break I can walk home. How cool is that ?

I miss the club in Houston and all the friends I made. I wish I could have gone to the bug boil at the Carlson's. I don't miss the traffic.

Hope you are all well. Tell everyone hi for me.

Kris

We'll for sure be at the grand opening of the new property TMTC is buliding in Ozona. When I know the date I'll let you know so you can meet us out there. I'm not sure if we'll get out there for any of the work weekends but will try. As well, whenever we make a Big Bend trip you'll need to hook up with us.
Is there any independent shops in El Paso that you can leave a card or such on the bulletin board?

Hope it all works out for you.

(I sent a pm. with Chris U's email).

No independent shop here. Chris just took off to Houston to get some things fixed on his rig. 10 hour drive just to use the Rover Shoppe. Speaks well for Vic and the team. They did wonders with my engine swap.

I have heard rumors about LRNA opening a store here. If that happens I’m thinking Rover Shoppe Franchise?

I did get a hold of Chris earlier today. I didn’t know him that well but we have ALOT in common. I think this is the start of a great club. Right now we have 4 definite members and if we get Chris' wife that will be 5

Talk at ya soon

Kris - I heard some are planning a trip there over Thanksgiving.
Tomorrow night is the meeting, I'll let you know what I find out.

P.S. Laura is awesome. I'm sure she will sign up if you need her too.

I spent my first 23 years in ELP. Although I'm no longer there, I still get back there quite often to visit family. Whenever I drive down there in the Rover, I always feel like it's the only Rover in town. In the 16 years since I left, I've never seen another Rover while there. I applaud your efforts....mainly so that I have some other Rovers to look at while there!!

Been here for about 9 years (El Paso, TX), Lots of rovers in town. In fact Cafe Central, the owner is a hugh rover lover and has a Disco and a Defender. Might be a good place to start the club. Also over on the west side of town is a mechanic that will work on rovers, also on the east side is a german fellow that is cert. on all things rover and has the dionostics to work on them.

I pm'ed you freeloder, I'll again be back in El Paso in two weeks and lets try and get together. I would like to talk to a fellow LRO member.

Just to add a little info to all members. I went down to Jacksonville Landrover, had to get new wheel caps, anyway, I was looking at some of the new rovers. Just wasting time and enjoying the day. One of the sales persons walks up and we start talking. He is showing me the new LR3 and he says to me. "Look I don't know about you but, I'm bored and we have nine acres next door. Do you want to take a LR3 out on the trail we had made for customers"? You should all know the answer. Anyway, come to find out he is the son-in-law of the dealership owner. Really nice guy and not only loved the products but is an owner of a LR3. Anyone in the area stop and see Fredrico. He is a true landrover owner and loves to talk to landrover owners. His quote was "I love landrover owners, they are great to talk to and share stories with."

Again, freeloder, get in touch. I'll try and check my messages as often as I can. But be sure I'll be on top of my messages after the 18th of November.
