Default Exhaust

1993 Range Rover Classic LWB

This exhaust sounds like crap.
I know the catalytic converters are toast, dead, pining for the fjords, whatever.
I'm not sure the muffler is intact. We can assume either way.

I have a million options pretty much.
I don't want to get raped.

My Jag buddy suggests I buy a Y from one of the online guys and then do it myself. Hoping that the muffler is not toast.

I think the Cats are just 60 bucks online.

But alas I would still have to have someone cut out the old and weld in the new...and like my Jag Buddy, the workmanship is often disappointing.

What would you do?

This is what I have done in the past (88 RR):
installed CTO 6905 cats and mid section muffler (Flowmaster). Ran a straight pipe in the back.

If you have the Back East DVD (from Dweb), you can hear my Rangie going up a hill in Wurtsboro (Dweb Fundraiser).

If you had the money I would get a set of ceramic coated headers and the full Janspeed exhaust system (still cheaper than the NRP and will last longer).

Just my opinion.

I have some magnaflow high flow cats on my D90 runnin into 2 1/2 pipe then to a flowmaster super 40 the straight back.
My RRC right now is having both cats taken out, pipes welded in, then after the Y-pipe ends it goes to 2 1/2in. and their is a magnaflow high flow cat then from a 2.5in pipe to 3in and a super 40 flowmaster It will hopefully sound like a monster truck
