Hello, new to the board - I received an invite via mail to take part in a gladstone off road day. I was just wondering what to expect. This will be the first time hopefully pushing my LR3 to some of its potential. I searched the forums for active discussions on the meet up - didn't find too much.

It's an event sponsored by Paul Miller Land Rover (Parsippany & Woodbridge) ... I've done it 2 or 3 times in the past.. I believe they provide breakfast[not 100% sure on that] & lunch and they have 3 different areas, suitable for beginners;
1) A trail ride -- loop around through the woods, a bit of a decline, a little water crossing, etc.. 2) obstacle course - little loop that gives you a few different nice obstacles to learn on.. log bridge crossing, uphill, off camber side-tilt, some ruts, a little mud, a decline that they'll want you to use HDC on, etc.. 3) cones course - in a gravel pit they'll have you run through some turns on cones and garbage cans, doing a time trial... then they have a teetertotter too. All in all it's a good first step, gets you out there and gives you a feel of what you can do.

Invitations depend on the dealership...
Some dealerships are real pricks about it and only invite their newest customers who spend the most money there, and don't let other people come... Others, are wide open for anyone to come... Then there are some where they just invite customers, but if you ask nicely, they'll add you to the list. It'll never hurt to call your dealership and ask them about their "Wheels" event, and see if it's open to you everyone.

chances are without an invite you wont get in. If its for an event where you drive offroad then ok, if its more upscale like a visit to someplace without some sort of sticker or invitation forget about it.
We have had ones that were off limits to even employees and only certain customers. But that was for LR corporate events.
