The easiest way is to take a cruise control switch (latching) and swap the covers that snap onto the front.
look in the rave manual to see what the contacts in the switch do and figure it out. It is a simple 2 wire hook up if you don't care about the indicator light or illumination like the stock ones. It becomes more complex if you want the others. You would have to emulate the way the lights work otherwise (ground, power for each light, the switch would have to complete the ground side of the relay for the lights...) Study the wiring diagrams and you can figure it out.
(HINT: draw a diagram of the switch and lights with the relay. label what each contact in the switch and its purpose...)

Yes. Go push them. if it makes a clicking noise and doesn't sit flush with the rest after pushing it once and makes another clicking noise and sit flush after pushing it a second time, it is latching. If it sits flush after pushing it each time, it is non-latching

Pin 1 - relay trigger (completes the path to ground)
Pin 2 - illumination lamp (provide 12V when the lights are on, tap into the other switches)
Pin 3 - Not used
Pin 4 - ground
Pin 5 - tell-tale lamp (provide 12V)

look in the rave manual at the electrical circuit diagrams. Look under exterior lighting: front fog lamps. find the switch. look under interior lighting and find the illumination lamp.
He is using the switch a different way. Land Rover uses the switch to toggle the earth side of the circuit. He is toggling the positive side of the circuit.
