I'd like to begin an accelerated injector cleaning regimen, and would like some advice.
In the past two months, I've dumped 4 cans of Seafoam in my gas tank, and this week, picked up a quart of Lucas Injector cleaner. I suppose that my question is whether there is a significant difference between SeaFoam, BG44 (or is it BT?), Lucas, or Marvel Mystery Oil. I've heard that the BG stuff is the best, but it's significantly more expensive. BG fans claim that after a couple of treatments, they have realized true milieage gains. I know that answering this request-for-advice will naturally involve reading many personal opinions, and I'm prepared to listen to all of them. Thanks, Mark

You can have the injectors removed and tested as to performance/spray pattern but it would be pointless unless you are running expensive race type injectors, and they dont do fuel economy! Sometimes a emissions test can give you some pointers as to loss of fuel economy but unless you are willing to go to extremes it is all guess work and trail and error. So many things can have a impact on fuel economy. Without knowing where and how you drive and under what conditions it is hard to offer any exact advise. Sounds as if you have done or started a tune-up. Good, this is the most important step. follow the manual and be sure to clean/replace all the items at the same time so you dont end up chasing your tail. As for cleaners I like the lucas the best out of your short list but all the "snake oils" work in the same way so go with the one with the best rep. Lucas is big into racing. However, the Land Rover is not a very economic truck brand new so all fuel/oil treatments "snake oils" super platinum tiped plugs and fancy dodads claims of.... "its like driving a new car!" must be taken with a pinch of salt. Contact the dealer and see if they recomend a sevice interval or type of cleaner. As a word of warning, dont go too crazy on the additives.

RedLine System Cleaner has given me the best results. Coupled with a KNow filter, I saw a gain of 80miles per tank.. 320 to 400.

and they do the trick when done on a schedule. I do Techron after every oil change and the cheap gas shakes are kept to a mininium. I use premium but eventually you will go to the gas station with their gas tank running on empty. Heaven forbid you gas up when the gas truck is making their shipment. Help!
Those cleaners will usually clean the pistles on the fuel injectors and temproraily clean the disperal portals on the fuel injectors. Stuff like Seafoam and BG 44k don't really make much more of the difrence but then again I am on the Techron diet. You can see a difference before and after and the bottle will treat the whole tank unlike others requiring two bottles for 20 gallon tanks. STP is the cheapest but it works . Between the two, Techron for $7-8 a bottle at AutoZone or Walmart makes quite a difference when you start with zip. You really want a difference , do the fuel system cleaning for $50-$150 and then keep it clean with Techron with regular oil change intervals. Adam in NYC
