Hi,
I think this fits best in here ! Genuine Land Rover training in South Africa. Afke did the Land Rover Experience Level One course here yesterday at Gerotek and I thought you might like to see a few pics I took during the day. All the participants were new Land Rover owners and had little or no experience. Afke has driven around Tuli and Tembe, but nothing too difficult and has had no prior training. The steep hills are fun, as they are as steep as you'd like, with a good surface to see what the vehicle can do, plus they're long and high enough that you know the vehicle can really do it. The sand tunnel is enclosed to prevent loss of the sand due to weather, as it is genuine very fine soft Kalahari sand. The off road part used for the Level One course is approximately a "2" in our local grading of off road trails, Easy, but fun to start on. Ratings go from 1 to 5, 5 being the most demanding, needing experience and skill, winching most likely. They can organise a "5" rated course on application, including 95% gradients, as it's a motor industry testing ground for anything up to (and including) military specialist vehicles. It's owned and run by Armscor, the military procurement agency. You can see, from the setting, that's it's just a bit out in the country. There are a lot of jackals in the area and even a leopard, who has two cubs ! We didn't see them, of course, as they are quite shy, but the spoor is around to see on the off road part. ![]() http://www.chat-africa.co.za/upload/...7jan/index.htm
