Lots of problems, all the time. It's funny because I now know every person taht works at Minneapolis Land Rover and they all know me, by name and voice when I call. IT is in the shop, at minimum, once a month. I brought it back in on Tuesday for my ABS/TRAC/HD lamps that were illuminated, again... and this time they said that instead of the SLABS unit that they thought they were going to replace, they narrowed it down to the rear left sensor. They ordered a new one, replaced it, and I went to pick it up yesterday. I made it a total of 100 ft from the dealer and DING DING DING, back on again. I turn back around and give it back to them. I know it sounds petty, but compound this with my inch and a half of repair invoices over the past 2.5 years, and I am pretty fed up.

You're way past when lemon law could have been invoked. The truck is 4 model years old.

I have only owned it for 2.5. Apparently it is still within the realm within Minnesota.

Lemon laws only pertain to new vehicles. The best you can get for a used car with multiple problems is they will fix it everytime for free after the initial break, but you have to keep going back to the same place.

Minnesota Lemon Laws

Minnesota Lemon Laws cover "A new motor vehicle used for personal, family, or household purposes at least 40 percent of the time."

Manufacturers are entitled to 1 repair attempt in the braking or steering system or 4 repair attempts or 30 business days out of service for other problems before it qualifies under Minnesota Law as a Lemon.

Cars are covered under the Minnesota Lemon Law for the Warranty period or 2 years.

Daway,

The part of the lemon law you are refering to in that link just explains the laws about a warranty for a used car. It tells you what they have to cover and how long they have to cover things. All of which is based on the milage of the used car. There is NO LEMON LAW coverage for a used car. Once you drive it off the lot it is yours (In some states, not sure if it's in all, you have a certain number of days to bring the car back for a refund, usually like 3 days). They do have certain things they have to cover and if you took it to them before the warranty was over and it was covered by the warranty then they have to fix it, but they don't have to take the car back and give you a refund of any kind.

I have just been through a similar experience with a Toyota in Florida, the lemon law rules had expired by just a month. I was left with a vehicle that I had paid $40k for, and my wife would no longer drive it or put our children in it. I spent a lot of time and energy researching all of the ways in which I could solve this issue and the bottom line was that it was now my issue and I owned it. I had to accept that at some point during my car buying career I would purchase a dud and not have any recourse anywhere. Long story, really long story short, the dealership stepped up to the plate and struck a deal that got me out of the Toyota and into another brand car. No other dealership gave two hoots about the problems I had had. Bottom line is that the only people that will ever feel for your situation is the original dealer and they are most likely the only one willing to make large concessions on a replacement vehicle for you, don't burn that bridge.

that's too bad. It sounds like your Discovery was built on a Friday.

I hate to say it, but you would be lucky if the lemon law on a used car went for more than a week.
