looking at a 1980 109 - Land Rovers Only

Hello everyone, I am looking at a 1980 109 series III and am not sure what to expect or look at/for. tell me your thoughts. It has right hand drive (I'm in Maryland). Sale sign says it was imported from Australia in 2005 and has Perkins Super diesel conversion. It has two-door with Safari rooftop (what's the story behind that anyway? I'm still researching). I didn't see the mileage yet. Owner is asking $7600. So what do you think?

I don't know what the Perkins "Super Diesel" is, but Perkins makes some really tough engines and they were a pretty common conversion for Land Rovers (I've done a couple myself).
Check the chassis well for rust.
Also the bottoms of the doors and the bottoms of the door tops.
Check the bulkhead for rust.
Research the engine, it may or may not be difficult to find parts for it in the US. Industrial Perkins are generally lower revving than automotive models.
