Default Looky what I found...

Saw this while driving down the highway. Got off the expressway and found my way to the dealer it was at.

Ask one of the salesmen what they wanted for it... $40,000... and that's when I left.

Makes Bernard's low milage G4 look like a bargain.

$20k extra for some stickers makes one wonder what dealers think cars are really worth.

Actually, thats a pretty good price for what the truck is. If it was simply a mass produced G4 re-stickered with the TReK package stickers, I'd agree with you, however assuming it is a genuine TReK truck from the '03 event, thats pretty much the best of the TReK trucks you can get. The '03 TReK trucks were pre-'04's with the CDL and the 4.6 engines, along with all the other unique TReK event options (rubber interior, blah blah, etc).

The lack of rust on cars from the South and West always amazes me.

It's not a restickered G4... thats not what he meant.. he means G4s aren't anything really special... they have a coat of tangiers orange paint and some stickers slapped on them.. the TReK vehicles were actually designed for the yearly dealership event... that truck ran the course, probably has pictures of it up in multiple dealerships, and promotional material... it'd be like owning a camel trophy truck, but on a much lesser degree... kinda like owning an authentic G4 challenge truck, not the NAS G4 'consumer' trucks that you see.

I cant see the pic but it most likely is a real TReK. One way to be sure is to check the door tag. It should be stamped from Special Operations

The original Trek trucks usually don't bring a premium because they've been beat to hell. $40K is the trolling price- it's worth nowhere near it. It's a novelty to have one, but few people will pay that much for the novelty.

You havent been surfing the same spots I was then. For older ones for sale on the dealer lots I've run across, $35K - $45K is about average for a super shape one. Private sale they got for a bunch less.

I'd most likely straight trade my D90 for one if offered, but I would have a real tough time paying out $40K for one.

Your right though.. they all have been beat to some extent. Some just clean up better than others.

Well, the one in your link says "Land Rover Rocklin" on the window and the one in the photos above says "Land Rover North Dade". Both numbered "5".

What's up wid'at?

Because for each of the qualifier events, the dealership names were changed on the trucks, to reflect the dealerships team using the truck at that event.
