On my just purchased 2001 Discovery II, the brakes are very mushy. It stops, but the pedal is half-way to the floor. I have read much in the forum on ABS brakes and honestly the other Disco's I drove had somewhat mushy barkes too. But, this seams worse. A check of the front brakes indicated the pads may be low. Could this be the reason? Blue Disco

Welcome to Rover. Our brakes are not the best and there are some fixes out there. How many miles on your truck??
If it is over 30k, the brake fluid is most likely fried, check that first, did it have a 30K service? Some of us have gone to aftermarket pads and rotors also. What sort of service have your brakes had so far? Mike J. |

Thanks for the brake fluid advice. The truck has 57,000 on it, but has been well maintained from the looks of it. I don't have any records of the 30,000 maintanence, but I will be getting a maintanence shortly. I will include the brake fluid change at that time. Think I will see how the fluid change works out before brake lines go in. Blue Disco
