Default My oil & filter choice. Updated!!

I found this new filter to try on my 02 Discovery ll 4.0.

The filter I found is a:
Crosland, Filter Price: $10.95 Part #: W0133-1632949

Land Rover, Filter Price: $15.75 Part #:ERR3340

Bosch, Filter Price: $4.95 Part #: W0133-1638720

The Crosland is 5-3/4 inch in lengh, extra large.
The Land Rover original is 4-1/2 inch,Normal.
The Bosch is 3-3/4 inch,small.

I will report back on any valve train noise on start up with the Crosland, from what I have read on the web the company makes a good heavy duty filter and has a good reputation.
The Bosch is a backup I will carry in case I get water logged along with a 6pack of the Penzoil. With the Fumoto Valve I can do a oil change in the field in about 10 mins.

I will be using Penzoil 5W-50 from now on since in the Rave CD it covers all the bases on climate conditions.

I have a napa about 1/2 mile from my house, we also have a Local Parts retailer that sells WIX brand filters, I will pick up a gold and a WIX brand and do a cut open comparesion to the Crosland to see if I am just buying the same thing for more Money.

The Penzoil 5w-50 is not available any where around here either.

I ordered it from here oil-store.com
I ordered 2-6packs $28.69 each shipping was $24.72 for a total per quart $6.84

Don't base the quality of the oil filter on it's price. Go on line and start reading up on some of the auto manufactures filter comparisons, Mobil 1, the M1-301 and K&N's 3001 are also the long version both have more of a better quality paper and better valves then anything I have seen so far when you start to compare the Micron size they filter and their flow rates.

Hey, thanks Mike.

I have been reading about filters for years. This is just alittle experiment on my part.In the past I would either use the OEM or a PureONE.

I respect your knowledge but I have issues with mobile as a company, I will not be using there products anytime soon.I definitnly do not want another thread on filter or oil debates I think we have plenty here.
I have never used any of the products I have posted in the first thread before and I just wanted to give them a try and submit a basic report.

For people that have not read this report Opinions and Recommendations - Oil Filters Revealed - MiniMopar Resources
or this Oil Filters Revealed - MiniMopar Resources
it is a good read and a decent guide for people to make personal choices.

Let us know how it goes. Have you read up on E.E. about their magnetic oil filter mahnets, take a read, I think they have some merit.
