Default New to the game

I have always loved land rovers and it is looking like now is the time to see if I can't become an owner. You all have any pointers on where to look for relatively cheap series trucks? I am pretty much in the market for a beater that needs some tlc. Not interested in body off or anything like that, but definitely looking for a project truck.

Thanks for all your help.

I would check similar sites as this one and eBay.

Default Why series?

the driving factor is budget, it is very small. I am not real interested in discos and the like because they are a little too refined for my tastes. I love the bare bones simplicity and functionality of the 69 FJ40 that I have now and would like more of the same in a new package. I would rather be fixing something than getting the mud out of the seats and carpet...
As for the beer, can there really be any question?
