OBD2 Connector - Land Rovers Only

Sorry if it's been posted already-

Amazon has some good deals running on OBD2 scanners but the end of the scanner does not look like the blue connector on my 2000 Disco2. Is there an adapter? Mine looks to be wider and has a single slot whereas my buddies OBD2 reader has a plug that has round pins not square.
