Hi all. I've been on here often but never needed to post as there is a wealth of information. But this time is different.
I have a 2000 D2 135000miles. Recent work done (two months ago):
Purge valve
Front O2's
MAF
Here's the problem:
Stalled out 4 times yesterday in two "events". First time stalled 5-8 minutes after start up on a mild hill. Radio was up so I couldn't hear any sounds. Started up after 15-20 hard cranks. Stalled about 2 minutes after I got her going again.
Second "event" was on the way home. Stalled on another mild hill, more of a bump, after slowing to a stop and accelerating. Radio was off. It died down like it was out of fuel. Sort of a choking out. Started again in 10-20 hard cranks with battery almost drained. Made it home and parked. Restarted the vehicle and had a really rough idle.
I'm at a lose as to what the issue is. I drove it in this morning after letting her warm up. No stalling this time. Had a gauge hooked up to monitor temp, rpms, etc. She stayed steady in the hour of city driving with temp static at 194 and rpms at idle around 675.
I am ordering a CPS, and new wires. 8mm kingsbourne. I will also be re leaning the MAF, IACV, and throttle body. I want to test for vacuum leaks. Any tricks? I was going to just do the "spray it down with throttle body cleaner and listen" method.
Any ideas about this dieing truck would be greatly appreciated. Thanks all.
