Lotta troops overseas taking care of business on behalf of the rest of us (hats off to those of you that have previously served) and sometimes it is nice to do things for them spontaneously. "ArmyRover" aka Bill, is leading troops over there now and I snagged his mailing info from him:
Nadoiski, William
719th MDVS FWD
APO AE 09330
Said his troops love calling cards, car mags, etc. I suggested some fuzzy dice but he said that was a "no can do for sure" over there !!
Many of you show your support in other ways I know, but if you were looking for something to do....

As a soldier I can attest to how great it is to receive gifts from home, regardless of if it is from your immediate family or American family.
Thanks, spiderfreak80, for bringing this up.

Ya Spider you stole my idea! I was too slow....my Dad is deployed and he mentioned there are some guidelines. Let me get that information and post it. Then let's really push this thing! We cannot do enough for them..
Anyone that is reading this and has a loved one in the service, please post their name and APO address and hopefully we can get a few hundred military personel to support form the rover family.
One piece of advice, if you can, use the flat rate priority mailboxes. It's like $11 and you fit as much as you can in there and ship.
If you have a lot to send, it's gonna be very expensive. Ship it regular mail and not priority. You'll save about 40% on postage, and the package only takes about two dAys longer to gt to them.
The packaes go to their bases, and they all get flown to the desert.
Armyrover is a good dude. When you send stuff to him, he makes sure everyone in his unit is getting a little something.
Btw, Armyrover loves coffee!
Thanks fir sending stuff to those guys. It really means a lot to them. Whether it's from family or not. Our Rover family is a very supportive one.
I just got back from my second tour not too long ago. I can personally account for how much of a moral booster it is to get something in the mail. It honestly doesnt matter what it is, just seeing that package or piece of mail with your name on it is enough. Now, that being said, I always prefered packages filled with little goodies. Because my platoon wasnt living on one of the main bases, but rather out in the city in two fortified houses, we didnt have access to alot of the things most others did. We basically lived off the boxes that friends and family sent us. I suggest sending things that wont go bad, dont have to be heated up, and are easily consumed on the go. Aka. beef jerky, canned Chef boyardee, or cracker packs. Oh, and dont you guys go forgetting the COFFEE now!
Spider, hats off for bringing this topic up!
Lets keep this one alive guys.

Definitely COFFEE!!
I don't know if you all know, but Starbucks is starting to send their new instant coffee to the troops. If you swing thru Starbucks you can buy some for them to donate. If they don't mention it, ask them. There was many a time I wish there had been some decent instant coffee around when there was nothing else available. Just heat water up with an MRE heater and your golden. Sure beats the crap they sometimes include in the MRE!
Any little thing counts. Thanks to you all for your support!!

Thanks for this thread. Will be getting a package to send over. I tremendously appreciate our troops. Info on what they like is most helpful as well as best way to mail package.
Yep, we should remember the guys even if a lot of folks think we are not involved in a war. Sounds like they have come a long way since the days of the LRPPs we had in Nam.
