Default ticking noise

Hello out there. I am looking for some help on this subject.
I am currently working on a 2005 RANGE ROVER HSE 4.0. the engine has a ticking noise that is most evident when the it reaches operating temperature. It appears to be comming from the left side upper block area. sounds like a timming chain tensioner or lifter noise. I noted that the tensioner is on the right side but is there something that is prone to failure on these engines before I tear down to inspect?
Any & all input would be appreciated.
vehicle history: lower intake gasket replaced apx 20000km ago but no other major repairs. all maintenace up to date.
The vehicle has 108000km. engine oil 5w30 full synthetic. The engine noise seems to be internal.

Is it internal or external, how many miles on the engine, what weight oil are you running?

If it develops when warmed up it is most likely a slipped liner.

likely just some valve train noise, my 99 does it to. Probably a lifter.
