When you log in, do you check the box that says "Remember Me?" ?
That allows you to stay logged onto the site even when you walk away and turn the computer off, however, if you are still logged on with this box checked, after a certain amount of time the site my log you off, without oyu knowing it, and would appear that in any section, you didn't read a new thread.
It happens to me a lot cause I fall asleep or I get side tracked.
