Ryan,
I also have a picture I would like to post as an avatar, but I don't have the software to reduce it to the sites requirements.
Two things, could I post a picture and would you reduce it for me and I used to post pictures on this site but I don't seem to find the area to access to download pictures, I think I am going thru another old age thing.

To upload pictures, when you hit "post reply" or "new thread", lower on the page, you'll see Additional Options, under there, you'll see Manage Attachments. And that'll let you upload pictures. If you post your picture here, i'll resize it in photoshop. You could also use http://www.imageshack.us/ which allows you to resize images, then it will host them.

Well that is what I have been used to seeing in the past but as of the last week or so I no longer see the area" Manage Attachments". Now what I see in its place is
Attach Files
Valid file extensions:bmp doc gif jpe jpeg pdf png txt zip
Do you have any ideas why I no longer can find the Manage Attachments area now?

I have Photoshop and ImageReady. If you guys want to e-mail the photos to me, I'll shrink them and e-mail them back.
If you are comfortable working with software but just can't justify the cost of Photoshop, Google for "The Gimp". It's free, can do 85% of what Photoshop can do (and 100% of what you're likely to want to do), and you can get it for Windows, Mac, and Linux. It's not quote as easy to use as Photoshop, but it's a real, professional-quality tool.

Ok, I've resized my image on imageshack. But it saves it as a bitmap. When I try to use it as my avatar, it says my pic is saved as an invalid file name. I'd like to use this photo as my avatar; so Ryan, can you help the technically challenged? Please?
