Default LRO Down Time.. PLEASE READ!!

Well after the debacle I had a few weeks ago with the server move, I wanted to give everyone plenty of warning this time.

Due to the ever growing popularity, traffic and bandwith usage (over 26 gigs in April)... I have decided to move LRO (and all my other sites) to a dedicated server. That way I will have full control of the whole server and won't have to share with 300 other sites.

The move is planned for sometime between the afternoon of Wednesday May 3 and Thu May 4. It *should* be pretty seamless, as I am moving withing the same hosting company. However, it might take some ISP's up to 72 hours to register the new info, but most of you should be able to get in right away. I expect the site to be down for no more than an hour or two. (crosses fingers!)

With the new server will come more speed, less problems and I will even be able to resell space if anyone wants me to host their sites. I'll make the members good deals, when (and if) I am ready to take on clients.

Once again thanks for your support and patience! This wouldn't be necessary if so many of you did not love this place so much!

Serg

Serg I have had my own dedicate server for serveral years now. Virtual Hosting sucks ass...Dedicated is the only way to go even though more expensive it is well worth it in the long run.

MyRover.net has been on a dedicated since the day it opened and has knock on wood in 7 months has 100% uptime.

The move is scheduled for tomorrow (Thursday, May 4th) around 10am PST.. it *should* take no more than an hour to do the move.

You will see a "We're closed for maintenance" sign when you come to the site. The senior tech is handling it, and he will update the old server info, so everyone should be able to get in as soon as we're done.. that way some of you won't have to wait up to 72 hours for your ISP to update its DNS records.

Let's hope it all goes smoothly...

Serg
