Virtually all hybrid applications to date benefit from duty cycles consisting of many starts and stops, ideal for regenerative braking and electric motor torque augmentation. In contrast, a motorhome typically cruises at interstate speeds for hours on end with few stops. For a motorhome, fuel savings could come through stored electrical energy rather than using more fuel when maximum power is needed.

What makes hybrids different? The hybrid combines the advantages of an electric motor and gas powered engine. The hybrid cars typically require smaller engines. The hybrid car runs off regular gas and stores energy in the batteries while braking. Hybrids will also shut the gas motor off when sitting at a red light. All of these features help you save money.
