Has anyone state side converted from Gasoline to dual fuel or LPG? I know our brothers on the Isles and in Oz have been doing conversions for a while. In light of the coming fuel hikes coupled with tax incentives for such a conversion, I've started to explore this possibility. My number one question is: What's the cost to convert? I have a good idea of the resultant savings.

Can supply kits, price is dependant on location due to shipping costs, over here in the Uk LPG is less than half the price of petrol, my rangerover on gas is cheaper to run than my 2.0l BMW
I've heard there is a kit out that mixes LPG with diesel to give much better mileage,i mproves performance, along with healther results for the wallet. If anyone is interested, I'll find out more about it and post the results. I will be away for a few days so don't expect a quick reply.

Well, not sure if I should admit this or not but, other than the Land Rover, I do have a F350 Power Stroke Diesel. They do have propane injection systems that will mix the propane with your diesel. You can set the rig up to open when under heavy strain or you can manually switch the system to spray for that "nitrous" effect.
It really does a fantastic job... especially pulling heavy loads up an incline.
I chipped the truck, pumped up the turbo, changed out the intake and added the down pipiing and larger exhaust to decrease the temp... Fastest diesel I have ever driven.
Find yourself a Diesel Performance store... many out there. As for Land Rover applications... should not be a problem.
I would Love to do that to my Disco II . But I don't know of any place in CT USA to refill the truck .
And where will the tank go ?
I know of kits in Poland that they just take your spare tire out of the trunk and stick this round tank in the spare tire location.

This Kit is manufactured here in SA and is exported to Aus & NZ.
It is made by a company called Seagull Engineering. I could not find them on the net though.
I saw a program on our Local TV where this comany sponser a Mercedes 270CDI in our local Stock car races. (As marketing for their product). in Standerd form the Merc puts out something like 120 KW. After the LPG kit was added it puts out 160kw. (The rules state that no mods on the enjin may be done, but that you may run deul feul. Also you may not add any Oxsidants to the enjin - as in compressed air).

I'm about to get my uncle send me a kit from europe .
Cause I already have 3 people that want it on their cars here in CT .
Only thing is that LNG and CNG are different . LNG is like 97 octane , but CNG is like 85 octane .

Someone posted info on a conversion kit that he sells. I believe he is located in Canada and even offers to install it for you. The post may have been on www.discoweb. Will try to find it again
Well I finaly got some info . And I'm still working on details.
LPG tank so far is a PITA . Casue it needs to be US DOT apruved all that happy hourse shit . The electronics and control valve end is taken care off. It will ruffly cost about $700 , and then the tank or tanks will be additional ~ $300. So now I'm stuck on the tanks.
Anyone has any good ideas where to stick a tank or tanks under that thing ?
Cause 44" x 8" cilinder is really tiny . it dose not hold that much . But I have to do more reasurch . Casue I know that they run tanks that go into the trunk where spare tire was .
And LR needs to use liqwid , casue Compresed is only like 87 octane , when Liqwid is like 97 or 95 octane.

Hello,

Thank you,
I brought my 87 RHD vogue with me from the UK its duel fuel gas propane (97 4.0 4 bolt with serpentine drive). 5th year of running in Ontario starts in minus 35c no issues - as i use my rangie for logging etc
Runs better on propane than gas and i have a supplier for the kits two types simple changeover kit - shuts off gas pump and switches in LPG when warm or latest Italian style with fuel rail 8 propane injectors and own mappable ECU that sources signals from O/E
