Default Steering shaft

Can any one solve this problem?

I've got a lightweight on a coil sptung chassis with powersteering and 90/110 steering colum. But all the steering shafts I've looked at so far (range rover Defender) are to short I need one about 21 inches ?

Hi there

Whats the problem, if you are a competent weldor then just extend it.

I had to shorten mine when I fitted a custom non plastic dash.

all the best Roy

Hello

I already have welded one fitted but a ministry inspector has deemed this unacceptable .

So I need to ether have one made or find one the correct length.

Problem now sorted !

Managed to find a lower steering shaft with a longer middle section don't Know what land rover model it was from but with a longer Td5 bottom UJ fitted it added up to 20.5 inches .
So now the lightweight has a shiny new shaft replacing the welded one.
