metal door skins

Hi; Can anyone tell me when defenders came out with metal door skins. I have a 2009 Defenderand have noticed that the bonet and doors are now metal skins not alloy. My concern is corrosion. have these panels been treated to prevent rust?

I read somewhere earlier today actually that they are zinc galvanized ... not 100% if thats accurate, but it would be nice.
