I was looking into Atlantic British's "Safari" rack. I then looked at the Surco rack and they seemed very similar. Even the gutter adapters looked the same. The only difference is that the Surco only comes in a 50" x 60", while the AB rack is 50" x 50". Although both have a 50" x 84", which is another reason why I thought they both might be the same.
Anyone have experience with either? Thanks! -Harold

I have one on my RRC, and yes they are the same. I really like the quality of the rack although some stainless fittings for the crossbars would've been nice. It's a very adaptable rack and I have been able to make lots of custom parts for it to mount lights, bikes, canoes etc... It's nice and light compared to the wilderness rack that AB sells, but it's kind of noisy at speed.

I have the gutter adapters on my range rover. For some reason the screws that hold the clamps on were steel while the rest of the hardware is stainless. I like the safari rack because I can take the basket off and use the cross bars for attatchments like boat/bike carriers. I have 2 hella 500 driving lights on the front of the rack, 2 550's on the rear and my jackall bolts to the side. I have a custom canoe carrier I made for it as well, it allows me to carry 2 full sized canoes. My computer is acting funky right now, but when I get it to work properly I'll post some pics.

Thanks again Colin.
Those pics will defenitely help me with my decision. I'm deciding between the 50x50 from AB or the 50x60 from Surco. I'll wait until your pics to make a decision. -Harold

Harold, Here's a few pics of my truck. I have the 50X50 from AB but it is a Surco rack. I mounted my Jackall to the side with a few galvanised carriage bolts and the lights are just through bolted on their studs with some wide washers.

That looks great Colin. Thanks again for posting the photos. I'm leaning towards the 50x50 AB one, especially for my SWB. I'll post some pics when I get it mounted.
Thanks again. -Harold
