Okay so Im ready to buy an ARB Bumper for my DII. I have a couple questions:
How does the winch mount to the bumper? See, I have a Warn XD9000i which has the built in stuff and its tall. When I originally breifly saw the bumper, I thought I'd just cut a hole in the top of the bumper so the winch sticks out. Then I realized, what if it doesnt mount that way? Im screwed with a winch I can't use on a bumper I shouldn't have bought. |

why get an ARB bumper? there are better bumpers out there that will fit an XD9000i i'm sure. if you already have the winch, buy a bumper that fits the winch so you don't lose money.

One of the concerns was airbag approval, which ARB is. The other choice I would have liked to buy is a little extreme and VERY Expensive to ship from england. Theres also the factory mount, which is badass I think. But in accual use, its a waste of money.
I just want to know if the bottom of the winch mounts to the front of the bumper or the bottom of the bumper. |

I don't think you'll have any problems...The "footplate" of the winch mounts against the front of the bumper, think of it as pushing your winch over backwards 90 deg. There's quiet abit of room behind the mounting plate. You will then undo the gearbox and rotate it back 90 deg so that you can reach the free pool handle, same with the motor for the connections... I didn't bother with either as the cables I fitted still reached the terminals plus I can't be arsed to free spool line out- that's why they have an out button on the remote.
Just don't bother fitting the bumpette's, I still need to post a picture of how they are produced but basically they are a bolt with a nail spot welded to it and molded into the rubber. Sneeze and the whole frigging ruber thing ends up on the drive way.

My brother suggested buying a mount and using it for the back, then just buying another winch for the front.
He might be onto something. I was also considering going with the factory mount for a little bit. |

Back mounts which are removable usually, if not always mount to the receiver hitch. Not good for departure angles, accessibility in water/mud, or if you get stuck with your nose headed up in the air.
