Eventually maybe, but it seems like you are somewhat new to it.. I wheeled for about 4 years before I got lockers.. I would recommend doing something with your CDL, you can either build a little lever, or get a D1 linkage for ~$125 ... CDL is already there on your truck, just need to do something to turn it on.

There's a member selling a DI linkage in the parts for sale section, if you're in need of one.

You're killing me man. I must be asleep on this thread. I need to give up trying to help, and just go to sleep for a couple of days.

I find it ironic that your user name is Rockcrawler00 and you're asking this question.

Its all right, lol....I was directing it towards rockcrawler, not you. Besides, rmuller is repeating what I already said too, its just my crazy avatar makes people ignore what I have to say, ha ha.

Without axle lockers and without center diff lock, which works the same way basically, you effectively have one wheel drive. With center diff lock you have two wheel drive, center diff and one axle locker 3 wheel drive, CDL and two axle lockers, 4WD.
If you're worried about getting stuck I'd suggest CDL, winch, lockers, in that order.
I've been off-roading for over 30 years and none of my Land Rovers have axle lockers. They all have winches.

Yeah I have a good winch. The only reason I posted this thread was because I was getting mixed ideas on their actual purpose. I had someone telling me they just stopped the car from rolling backwards! lol. But yeah I don't think I'm going to look into lockers right now, they are a bit pricey and I think my winch can hold me over for now.

Thanks a lot guys

I just bought the ARB locker switches and I play a sound effect CD of a pump and air release valve when I hit the switches, just have to time it properly with the CD! I get serious props at the mall!

On another note, read everything you can on winching techniques. They are quite dangerous if used improperly. I'd even suggest using plasma rope, I made the conversion after seeing how a broken winch cable can take you out or injure you pretty bad due to the stored energy when under load. I need my fingers every day as a dentist.

I love the recovery DVD by Bill Burke. He does such a great job our club here in Colorado uses him to train our National Rally trail leaders!

Whenever I pull up next to a Honda I go "Phhssshhhttt!", and they think I have a turbo.

Hahahaha!

That reminds me of the EAS days with my RRC. A couple of hombres in a mini-truck with hydraulics pulled up next to me and did a few up/downs to amuse me. I threw the RRC in park and hit high mode followed by access mode. Not quite as quick as their set-up but I left their jaws open from surprise!

Did the 03's with CDL have the lever inside like the 04's or just the lever on the T-case like the 99's?

Just the tcase nipple. Only two that I have ever heard of. Both members on Dweeb. And both had trucks produced in the last couple of months of 03 production, (summer of 03).

I'd be more inclined to say that the 03's with the CDL nipple are probably ones who had their tcase replaced, and dealership threw in 04 lt230s in them.. I heard of the 03s on dweb as well, very rare..

I'll have to crawl under my truck this weekend, my Disco was made in May of 03 so there might be a small chance.
