Default Car Ports / Canopies

For those who don't have garages and have made themselves a car port or have put up canopies, please do share some pics. My dad has given me the go-ahead for this since he'll benefit from it to. We will be doing a lot of construction to our house this year and two of the projects are mine...rebuild office, and some sort of car storage. We can't make a garage as the space infront of our house doesn't allow this. I know one can buy the canopies from Northern and Walmart but I'd like to have something that can handle ATLEAST a Cat 1 cane! If anyone can point me to a manufacturer I'd really appreciate it. I've done google searches but its an endless list of links.

dont put a foundation in.

Otherwise you are officially building something and subject to taxes and approval by the local authorities.

I have a car canopy in the back yard. Bought it two years ago at Costco, and so far it's held up really well. Even withstood a windstorm that tore a bunch of shingles off the house. A few tabs got ripped off, but it did better than expected. Only problem is the disco doesn't quite fit in, slightly too tall with rack and lift, and the zipper door is a pain to get zipped up. I have it weighed down with 50lb shot bags.

I have 2 Harbor Freight specials in my side yard. Got them cause they are cheap. Use one of them for a barn for the first year, and now it is a garage for a rig. I don't know how much longer the fabric will hold up, already had to replace the door (torn up by the wind). I keep my Samurai in the other, along with the motorbikes etc.

I was thinking I should upgrade (when these wear out) to a traditional peaked roof temp garage, but last snow storm, my domed roof HF specials dumped the snow right off while my neighbors more expensive peaked one held the snow on top and saged. He parks a brand new Lexus SUV in his so I am sure he would be upset if the frame work colapsed on it.

I am sure my neighbors would love for them to go away, but hey that was my reason for moving into a neighborhood without a covance in the first place.

I will get some pics tomorrow.

The funny part, I have a oversized 2 car garage that is just full of crap while my rigs & rides sit outside. Go figure.

Speaking of car ports, at my new apartment I just moved into, I tried to park under neath it with the RRC and damn near took of my off-road lights. At the same time ripped of my CB antenna. Pissed me off! Hopefully it's a simple fix.
