Default Disco II Roof Rack options

I have a 2004 Disco II SE7 and I really want a roof rack to throw some of my outdoor gear on when I go on trips and what not. Since Safety Devices isn't producing any more I looking into the Hannibal Roof Rack. I have the money for it and I wont order it til november however I was wondering if anyone has used hannibal roof racks before OR if anyone has a used D2 high rise (ANY make) roof rack for sale.

Some of the best out there. While some dont like the way they look, they are very functional. Here's my buddy Pete's rack...another fellow Floridian...

They spread out the weight evenly on the gutter, are made from aluminum so they wont rust, are lightweight, and Hannibal has mounting solutions for everything you'll through up there.

It's also nice that you can throw a roof top tent up there without modifying the rack any.

You got two places to choose from here in the US...

www.RoverAccessories.com

or

www.roverparts.com

If you get on Dweb and contact DiscoNomad (I THINK he's a member here too) he may be able to lead you to a vendor in Canada where he got his ( I THINK he got it cheaper...lately everytime I've said "I THINK" I've been wrong so do your research..lol)

Here is the vendor that sells in Canada: http://www.gcec.info/
Great Canadian Exped. Co.

With the US dollar being so weak currently, you might want to re-think buying from Canada, unless you can pick it up.

Just wondering, as I am thinking about getting this roofrack as well, when they attach to the gutters, how durable are the gutters themselves? It seems like a lot of weight to put onto just the thin steel gutter area. Like for tenting, and just sitting up there on the rack it just seems like a lot to support for the exterior of the vehicle. Just wondering what makes the gutters so strong to support.

Thanks,
Mike

Just read on another site, Safety Devices is now back in production in the UK. It will be a while before the U.S. distributor, Saftey Devices U.S. will be back and going, they have some stuff to work out with the UK.
So sit back and wait a bit, Santa may bring your a new rack for Christmas.

Word has it that there will be a long list of people, get on it soon.
Might want to talk to John or Ho at E.E. and see about getting on their list.

umm, i'd like to get a dual jerry can holder, but that would be it as far as hannibal made accessories. i would love to get an awning or something from them, but its too pricey, i'm gonna spend the money on foglights and a factory "push" bar instead.

how hard was it to install your bar? thats the genuine parts one correct?
