Default Factory amplifier- 93 RRC

Has anyone tried to hook up an aftermarket head unit to the factory amplifier?

I dont know if it really applies in this case, but I have an aftermarket head unit, and the rest of the sound system is stock (including amp.).

What amplifier are you talking about. There is a signal amplifier for the radio antenna and a small audio amplifier for the sub-woofer. But I am not aware of any others, but the NAS spec may be different.

I'm talking about the audio amplifier. I'd like to use my Alpine head unit and hok it up to the factory amp.

just hook it up. Mine has the Harmon Kardon amp under my seat but I just hooked it up like the wiring diagram says (corresponding front, back, left and right and the correct polarity)

The power for the audio and and antenna amplifiers run off the same power lead. You will find the required wire at the rear of the radio. You just connect to the wire on the radio that drives an electric antenna, etc. There is a separate set of speaker wires for the sub-woofer, but if you radio does not have a separate output, just tap it in with one of the rear speakers.
