I designed and made this cheap DIY cargo thing for my buddy's lifted XJ jeep. I got the idea from an Nissan Xterra forum.
I think my buddy patrick bought 40" shelving, didnt even have to cut it. I used some brackets from a Land Rover that were originally straight to mount the shelving. We bent them using the rubber mallet and the vice. Drilled 4 holes in the plastic trim. The rear mounting points are permanent allowing the shelving to swing down when you unclip the front clip rings. It took us maybe 20minutes to actually make it and install it, the hardest part was finding the right type of mounting brackets and it turned out the Land Rover ones I had worked out just fine. I wouldn't do this in my rover because of my damn jump seat headrests, but it looked really sharp for being such a cheap mod. The only thing left for patrick to do is to repaint the brackets and get a cargo net (i have an RRC one i will give him) to keep the stuff from coming loose and hitting any occupants.
oh yeah the other 2 random pics are of the hill off of alico (we drove on it in the rover) and of a D1 that was sponsored by my mom's lawfirm for some Jack Hanna Animal event. He even followed me into the same gas station to look at my truck haha, he obviously wasnt the owner, he didnt even know what side his gas door was on until i pointed it out to him.
shit man... you ever think of starting your own busniess and being one of those guys that catches pestering and troublesome animals for people. i think you would be good..lol
I'm not sure what's cooler; the clothes rack or the Jeep subwoofers.
This is Jeep Guy. Thanks for the rack comment, its to keep my dresses from getting wrinkles. llol. But fear not, I have a fox body p o s mustang I'm gonna sell eventually and looking to pickup a disco 1.. you know, for a tow slut/dependable daily. lol.
^my buddy got onto my computer and posted that. here are the pics from tonites adventures with him in my rover haha.
caught 1 armadillo in my neighborhood and scratched the crap outta my paint tonite while driving down an ATV trail off of, get this, SPARTA road. We couldnt help but crack 300 jokes all night haha
oh yeah, my rims are NOT painted gunmetal, the brake dust just made them look painted haha.
Don't Armadillos carry some sort of disease? Leprosy or something??
yeah they carry leprosy. i'm not too worried, they would have had to come into contact with the disease and the only way to get that is to be in a region with the disease such as rural mexico.
Chris, thought about painting your rims gunmetal? Didn't look bad with the brake dust!
no, i want them painted semi-gloss black. gunmetal looked better than stock silver, but my whole truck is black and white i wouldnt want to just throw in gunmetal into the mix
i'm in florida now. dont think so. car is in the shop at the moment getting a 45k service job, then i gotta trade the LR3 for my car this afternoon and drop it off for a brake job.
