Default fitting 32" on spare mount

i have heard that simply by turning the spare tire mount over it is possible to fit a 265/75 on there. is this true? if so, what else is invloved or is it just as simple as turning it over?

Yes it's just that simple! Taking the back trim off can be a bit fiddly as sometimes the tabs that hold the trim on can snap. But there is really nothing to it.

Well...it is simple; but to utilize all of the mount bolts on your mount bracket you'll have to drill a couple more holes in your door. I would recommend doing this for better strength. You'll also need to adjust the rear wiper arm a little (remove and realign) so that it doesn't hit the mount.

You can use a dremel or cutting wheel to notch out the carrier for the wiper too.

Wait...doesn't a 265/75/16 still fit on the spare mount on the DII like the DI??

They didn't on my unmodded mount unless I fitted the tire high up using just two of the studs, with the third stud pushing against the rim (booty rigged). I'm using stock rims, steelies may be different,

bigger tires also mean more weight which over time could damage the door or just loose the rim.
