Angry Freakin!! RELAY...need help

i am trying to wire my lights on my roof rack....everywhere i read it says i need a freakin relay... i cant figure this POS out.... i have power to the relay...ground from relay ...then to switch and lights to switch and i have the lights grounded..... i hope i didnt confuse u there... am i missing something! cause im about to throw this relay into the lot next door to me


Power ---> relay ----> switch ---> lights
thts how i wired it...the relay is grounded and the lights are grounded!!!

What am i missin here

Power from relay to lights, thats the point of the relay, not sending the power throught the switch.

4 pins

1 fused power to relay

2 relay to ground

3 switch power to relay

4 relay power to lights

Your switch now activates the relay not the lights directly, the relay is a switch designed to handle the load.

Oh and you've probably blown a fuse doing it that way so check them too.

Wow...tht helps a lot and yes i have blown a total of 2 fuses so far... i didnt know i need a power to relay and to switch

If you are using the relay I think you need it should be fused power to relay on the 30 pin, power to lamps on the 87, relay to ground on the 85 and switch to relay on the 86.

Well i didnt buy fancy lights... the lights came with the truck they only 55wats each..got 4 of them on my rack...plus two on my bumper....so i figured i wire them
