can I buy one through you? or....I am a member of the forums, but I have zero posts. btw, I do need an HP-3001 for my next oil change....

Hey, he isnt close to you steve, is he? Hehe.....I would just buy two if I picked them up and saved the shipping.

As for the air filter....Im actually thinking about replacing mine with a paper one and using the K&N as a backup......seeing how its not worth killing my MAF or worse, shortening the life of my engine with increased amounts of dust.

Nice stuff! I wish i knew they made K & N products for my Rover, otherwise wouldn't have put an after market cone filter on my intake.

Get rid of that cone, seal up the box, and throw a snorkel on there. You're going to kill yourself when you hit the first puddle.

I just ordered a K&N Air Filter for one of my customers overseas and got a free oil filter. Paid $40.95 for part # 33-2737 and got an HP-2004 free, and I got $20 off the order cause I setup a new account. Total order was $30.45 shipped.

x2....its going to be ugly. I just spent 30 mins yesterday cleaning mine, but if you look at the engine bay after going through a mud puddle, its covered. If you have an air filter that is sucking air from the engine compartment its going to suck that water right up and *CHUG CHUG---stall*....hydrolocking your rover.

I say get that cone out and at least go back to the stock setup....K&N filter or not. again though, I am thinking of getting rid of mine (I have for quite some time) because of issues related to the K&N filter's ability to filter out particles.....supposedly it sucks....and will lead to unnecessary engine wear.....along with the possiblility to kill your MAF sensor.

Hmmmm, Josh, reminds me....I need to clean my K&N. Haven't done that in quite a while. MAF is still ok. I have had the same K&N air filter for the last 75,000 miles. As long as you clean it right, you should have no problems.

where did you buy your cleaning stuff? and how often do you clean it?

...also, ive heard that its overoiling that kills the MAFs.....

I havnt cleaned my K&N for 7,000 miles.....hehe.....am I overdue?

Btw, how many miles do you put on in a year? I have been doing about 5k/year--firsttime driver......so ive had this filter around 2 years with no problems....but I still have this concern.

Well...I bought my truck 3 years ago with 65,000 miles on it. I now have over 145,000 miles on it. I put in the K&N around 70,000 miles. I clean it every 3 months or so. One thing I do is let it sit overnight on a towel after I apply the oil. So maybe that helps.

Those guys will be at Hollister if you want to order it and pick it up then. No shipping cost.
