Here's some pictures of the sliders I built. They're a take-off of Dean Brown's sliders posted on DWeb made from 1/4" steel. In addition I added some nerf bars to the side for lower body protection and highlift jacking.

Very cool. Never paid attention to these things, and not too familiar with them. Of course I'd think they prevent something from happening to someone's vehicle.

If I were you, I'd go back and add a 3/16" plate to the rear of the sill, across the entire length. I don't think the fender washers will be sufficient to keep the bolts from pulling through. Plus, by adding that plate, it will help to keep the sill from distorting and causing door alignment problems.
Although I think they look a little "jeepish", it looks like you took the time to make them clean. |
