Default I talked moms into a RTE 2" lift YES!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well I convinced my mom that a 2 RTE lift will be a good look for her Disco. She wants it mainly for looks unless I sneak it off. So around late september/early october we should have it. 2 lifted discos alright.

Also my Dad might be getting a 96-97 Disco in Arizona. He wants a Land Rover now.
guess all this time seeing me and moms Disco he really likes them now.

really? I mean, thats really cool....but I would be concerned about her comfort. I personally like a slight lift because it make it a little bit easier to get into the vehicle, but too much of a lift may make it harder. I guess it depends on who your dealing with.....just make sure your mom knows exactly what it will do....including possibly making the vehicle feel like it wants to sway a little bit more in the turns because of the raised COG. Also, since I doubt she will be hauling stuff back and forth I suggest springs with a lighter spring rate.

Buy the springs through Tony at LRRForums and talk to steve or someone at RTE to find out what the best setup for your mom would be.

Josh you have a good point
RTE like OME has a MD kit right
She'll want the medium duty kit as she has no bumpers or heavy components.
but she does carry her briefcase around Sometimes we may trade Discoveries and she likes how mines ride. plus the height
I'm guessing with the 18 inch alloys the ride shouldn't change much

I saw it looks very sturdy

I might be following your route of a homebuilt bumper. My friend bulit one for his 85 yota pickup. All I need now is a little cash for Steel.

I agree with Josh, it looks really bad, REALLY!
Besides OME MD springs give very lift, more like an inch, if you want two inches you have to go the the 751 in the front and the are rated HD, and you really need to go with the HD shocks, the 107 and 108's, not the 107C and 108C's, which are the MD shock, they are pretty soft.
Don't talk you Mon into something you wants and she could care less about, believe me, when she doesn't like it, there could be HELL to pay.

So the OME will be a easier choice with the MD springs

it may be the more reliable choice.

Why exactly does she want a lift?

Go with the RTE springs. Get a real 2" lift. With those springs and the swaybars intact she won't be swaying anymore the now. I do like the OME shocks and as Mike said, get the heavy duty. Stay away from the Pro Comp shocks, sure they're cheap but I don't think they're doing much to control my springs, the extra length is nice but that's about the only good thing I can say about them. I may be putting my OME shocks back on soon.

with OME HD and 18's

the issue with most mom's and lifted truck is "How to get in" my mom just got here for a visit and she wants a running board installed...if there's a quick disconnect running board out there, I'd go for one...

not to mention if you're in a situation where passengers have to go into the backseats....hell I tell ya

She likes the way it looks and Doesn't want the SLS anymore.
My mother likes being up high I told her one can only go so tall on a Disco with a rear rotoflex.
