Default Jerry Can Mount

Getting ready to take off for Moab(LR Rally) and I have Jerry Can(20 litre)(and holder) but need advice on the mount(location and how to secure it).I see majority are mounted to roof rack but not a big fan of that locale.I have MoFab half rack so I am sure I rig it somehow but would rather mount elsewhere(question is where?)Any ideas and or pics of different mount scenarios would be great.

I am amazed you actually got a Mofab 1/2 rack. Considering Moses doesn't know how to return calls, voicemails, or emails. Good for you; as that is one of the sweetest, cleanest looking 1/2 racks out there, and his work is top notch. You could make a removeable mount for the mofab rack, that you could attach the jerry can holder to. Then you could remove it, when not needed. Or you could make a mount that attaches it to the rear door. But that will wear outthe door hinges rather quickly, with all of the added weight. Just DO NOT put it inside the vehilcle, whatever you do. Water, okay; but never fuel. Be safe, and good luck.

Moab has gas stations. Most trails only use a quarter tank of gas, possibly up to half.

You'd be better off using it for water.

Default Mounting

Yeah, thanks on the rack.Moses does great work.(Got his light bar as well).I was actually more worried about running out of gas on the way out there on some obscure stretch of I-70(chock full of exits that say "no services") but actually stopped every 100 miles or so and filled up.(you are right on the water though as we ran out halfway through Fins and luckily someone was nice enough to loan us a dozen bottles or so).LR Rally and Moab were awesom.Hit a deer on the way home in Colorado(tore up brush guard but amazingly did no other damage).Waiting on Moses response to email for tube bumper.
