Default Ladder

OK my truck has a rear door ladder on it and its bin there for over 5 years. I would like to proceed in removing it but an afraid of what kind of rust will be under there. show i go ahead and take it off or just leave it and it there is rust should i sand it out and add some bondo or what can i do about it. thanks for all your help

If you don't like it take it off.....There will be body work needed...If there is rust it is better to tend to it now than let it spread more....

its a 1996 disco and sure but it might be a wile ive bin thinking of a new paintjob and bumper conversions so it will come off after that is done if i chose to do it
