Default Lifts and drive shaft angles

For people that have 5" or more of lift what have you done to correct driveline angles. Just radius arm offsets? What kind of vibration do you get? Have you installed different driveshafts? Particularly Tom Woods double cardan?

I use a DII front driveshaft (DC) and stock driveshaft in the rear, but I'm only 3" high.

To our customers that have more than 3" we sell a 30 or 32 degree wide yoke DS (also DC).

I forgot, we also recommend the QT 6 degree arms, adjustable panhard rod and stronger bushings.

I've seen people with the solid rigid axles, on any vehicle including our rovers, tilt the yoke of the diff. to point at a higher angle to lessen the front U-joints from breaking. I haven't seen anything as far as steering, as far as I know, no one that I've seen has used like a dropped pitman arm, or dual steering stabilizers or any of that.

I suppose the first question would be why do you want a 5 inch spring lift.

Double cardon Disco 2 shafts fall apart very quickly and can do a lot of damage when they go.

this is not for mine its regarding my friends disco 1, he previously had 2" springs and 2" spacers and has already bought 5" RTE springs, appropriate shocks, and front and rear double cardon shafts to get rid of his roto flex. hes has 35's on it with trimmed doors and arches. he is concerned about the death wobble and the vehicles ability to self center. rte doesnt want to sell just the 5" offset radius arms without doing caster corrected swivel balls, so he asked me to see if anybody has had serious issues or is rte trying to make an extra buck?

He should have done a body lift and he would not have the issues he is looking at. A 2 inch spring lift with a 2 inch body lift will fit 35's under it with a bit of arch trimming. No need for caster correction, special shocks, etc. Keeps the centre of gravity lower and the car will work as it should.

No, they are not trying to make an extra buck...they are covering their asses for safety reasons. Do it right, dont skimp on $300 swivels. I have a 3" RTE lift and I plan to get corrected swivels in the near future.

I dont suspect them of doing so, but I figured it wouldn't hurt to get multiple opinions of people with experience. thank you and I'll pass your thoughts along.

Oh I forgot to mention he does have a 1" body lift as well.
