The limiting factors of the front end were discussed in the last thread started by 5Speed. There is no debate about this. However, the limited flex in 5Speed's front end is not caused by these factors as other vehicles with the same factors flex more. A stock standard Rover flexes more in the front.

So you have a stock truck ? By this time no one cares about 5speeds truck or some D2 you posted, we want to see yours. Springs,Shocks ?? What do you run 'O' Rover Guru ?

You don't even have an avatar, are you capable of posting pics?

hey look, a D1 with lots of flex in the rear and very little in the front. Basically this is a ramp made of rock so there isn't any excuses here... I'll find the pics taken from the front. they look just like Justin's...

I have posted many photos of my truck in the past. If you go to the Off-road section, you will even see a video of one of our recent trips.

As previously stated, 5Speed posted photos of HIS truck to get comment from myself. This discussion is not about my vehicle and why I have the suspension set-up the way that it is. I understand why 5Speed has set-up his truck the way he has. This discussion is not about whether his or mine suits what we have set it up for. He is obviously quite happy with his set-up and therefore it must suit his purposes. The discussion is solely about how well the suspension moves.

But as 5Speed's photos clearly show that he has no spring movement, and has only achieved any movement by springs dislocating, you keep on wanting to shift away from his set-up.

I must be really stupid, but I thought that a D2 was a rover.
Can you tell me who makes Discoveries as I obviusly have it wrong.
Are you trying to impress with stating that you have a RTE 3" spring lift. They are just another set of stiff springs. Why don't you list the compression rate for your springs or are you just another that goes and buys springs without knowing what they do or what they are for.

You have just confirmed again the pitfalls of putting in spring lifts with stiff springs.

so you want a spring that is really soft, but can handle the wieght of a fully loaded truck? that's like saying you like fat skinny chicks.. it doesn't make sense.

and justin has a D1, so why the hell are you bringing up D2's? When did I ever say A D2 wasn't a Rover?

and no you dipshit, I'm not trying to impress everyone with my RTE 3" system, I'm telling those what i have so they don't ask later, I mean we are talking about suspesion aren't we?

my springs are stiff because I go out on 500+mile long trips out in the desert. That means LOTS of heavy gear. I don't think riding on bumpstops is a great way to travel in the desert.... So i'm gonna stick with my dumb stiff springs.

ok, tell me this... What should i do to my truck so that i have lots of flex in the front, lots of flex in the rear, and be able to carry enough gear for 3 people on a 5 day trip.

I'm so interested in hearing how the front radius arms can allow lots of flex.
